@Minter - The school has considered the pilot a success, so far, and has now opened up applications for the next school year 2012-13. They are tweaking the structure but continuing the effort.

Interesting post, Ken. I wonder if any of the "cool" sites of the future would refuse to sell to the parental Facebook due to principles (along the lines of musicians who refuse to let an established record company sell their music.) It seems that if they want to stay hip, they 'd rather not be in the fold. Of course, they'd be leaving buckets of cash on the table......

Great counter intuitive reason, that I certainly didn't read anywhere else, Ken. Similarly, and at least, theoretically, only 13+ can get onto Facebook and for this reason I saw a bunch of the younger kids on Twitter where there is no age limit.

The fact that Instagram is/was free meant that kids did not need to buy it on itunes (another parental filter in most cases).

To follow your reasoning, I'd have to believe that there would be clusters of kids who, by oral word of mouth, discovered Instagram together. I certainly would be interested to see a breakdown of the 30 million (now 40 million) users.

Yes, I have been with Yahoo Small Business about the same length of time as you. Similar story here. My premium mail has less features now than my free a/c & has no Android App for my fone, unlike the free Yahoo mail. Like you, I have also registered other domain names with GoDaddy as they are cheaper. I've had a problem with an ftp file manager default for 5 years and complain every year but never a response! (I don't phone as I am in Australia.) I'm looking elsewhere, too. At least I know it's not just me! Thanku for sharing this.
