Maybe I’m a bit late to the party (certainly according to my 10-year-old son), but I’m probably ahead of most of the other “over-40” parents out there. Professionally, this is an exciting trend.
Not only does World of Warcraft (WoW) have millions of paying users, but a lot of them are super creative and highly technical. In best mashup style, the music, stories, characters and visuals are combined from different sources to create new and entertaining results.
Even the South Park kids got into the act earlier this October – this is a hilarious introduction to WoW. Definitely not politically correct. Viewed over 600,000 times in less than a month, just on YouTube:

Here’s “Ballad of the Noob,” set to the song “A Boy Named Sue” by Johnny Cash. Noob is a new character in WoW who starts out with no powers at a very low level.
